Our Melon de Bourgogne is sourced from own-rooted
vines planted in 1973 on sorrento sandy loam soil at the
Bien Nacido Vineyard.
The vines’ origins involve a case of mistaken identity—
a tale best shared over a glass of wine. Ask us some
time!
In the Winery
Whole-cluster pressed, the juice is tank fermented
using only native yeast. We then transfer to neutral oak
barrels for the winter to help build texture. The wine is
then racked back to stainless tank prior to bottling in
the late winter—just in time for spring.
