2021 Sauvignon Blanc McGinley Vineyard

2021 Sauvignon Blanc McGinley Vineyard

Each bottle of Lieu Dit begins in the vineyard—and occasionally we choose to celebrate the individuality of the vines we nurture each year.

In shimmering detail, McGinley shares the beauty and range of our home.

Lieu Dit began with one guiding principle: when we give vineyards names, we allow their uniqueness to be shared throughout the world. One of our most limited bottlings, the Sauvignon Blanc from McGinley Vineyard always rises to the occasion—ready to remind us of why Santa Barbara is so special.

In the Vineyards

Sourced exclusively from McGinley Vineyard—formerly known as Westerly Vineyard, and host to the first plantings of Sauvignon Blanc in the appellation (planted in 1996, some 13 years before the region’s formal designation). Soils here are shallow and meager, strewn with chert, serpentine, and alluvial cobbles.

To nurture and preserve the alluring texture and concentration afforded by McGinley’s soils, we naturally ferment and raise its wines in old barrels. This meticulous process supports our promise to you that each bottle from this remarkable vineyard will unfurl its hidden flavors over many years to come.
